Dance Lessons

A contemporary novel set in rural Ireland and greater Boston

I retain the film and TV rights to “Dance Lessons.’ Contact me.

A few months after her husband’s death, Ellen Boisvert discovers the truth about her late husband Fintan’s life before he emigrated from Ireland to Boston.

Contrary to what he had told her, Fintan was not an orphan. Instead, his mother Jo is alive and managing the family farm in Ireland.

Ellen travels to Ireland to visit Jo’s hillside farm and the lakeside village of Gowna. There, she begins to uncover all of Fintan’s lies—and to make peace with her short and turbulent marriage.

A beautiful examination of three women’s lives, this novel deftly explores both relationships and solitude, with Ireland’s gorgeous countryside as backdrop.
