How to Set Up and Keep a Writing Schedule
Last month, I launched my fifth book, “Trespassers and Other Stories,” a short story collection that’s set in coastal Massachusetts and my native Ireland.
This month, I’m balancing book appearances with new writing projects and my day job working for a non-profit healthcare organization and teaching writing. The writing events include 22-plus online author interviews and guest blog posts.
As part of my virtual blog tour, the host at Create Write Now, a site that supports journaling and wellness writing, invited me to write about setting up and keeping a writing schedule.

Yippee! No commuting hours means more writing time.
So I balance writing with a day job and teaching and my other, non-writing work and commitments. For many of us, those commitments extend beyond a day job to also include parenting, family caregiving, pet care, healthcare appointments and … well … just managing our daily lives.
